This is an autobody-like career without all of the hassle of the less desirable repair portion of an autobody job. This position spends most of the time working in state-of-the-art spray booths using the newest spray and electrostatic technology to paint manufactured items. Parts come to the paint area masked and ready to spray! Manufacturing experience is not required; we will train you.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Setup and paint parts in custom paint shop
- Mixing and adjusting paint for application of epoxy, enamel, urethanes and other types of coatings.
- Clean and perform maintenance of paint guns and spray equipment
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and understand process instructions
- Basic knowledge of paint and paint equipment
- 1 year experience painting in automotive or manufacturing field preferred
- Be able to interpret paint specifications from customer drawings
- Individual must be able to work with little to no supervision after initial training period, showing a high degree of initiative and self-motivation.
- Computer data entry skills required
- Physically able to handle light to medium weight (up to 50 pounds)
- Ability to handle light to medium items repetitively, without damage to the component or its finish.
- Job requires extensive periods of standing while performing tasks.
- Must have good interpersonal skills working with people in a team environment.
